“I recommend KSC because of the atmosphere, the opportunities, and the educational programs. No matter what you are into, whether it is comic books, sports, theater, music, or religion, at Keene State you can explore that interest and meet new people.”– Catie Marie Bisson, Music Education
A College on the Move

Location: On Main Street in Keene, N.H., the largest town (pop. 23,000+) in southwestern New Hampshire. The College is only a few minutes’ walk to Keene’s lively downtown. It’s an easy drive from Keene to Boston or to the beautiful White Mountains of northern New Hampshire and the Green Mountains of neighboring Vermont.
Campus: 170 landscaped acres, with more than 60 buildings, including award-winning residence halls, new Zorn Dining Commons, Media Arts Center, David F. Putnam Science Center, and the popular L.P. Young Student Center. The New Hampshire Sunday News called our campus “a showplace of higher education.” If you come toschool here, you’ll call it home.
Students: about 4,400 undergraduates. The incoming freshmen class will number about 1,250. Their average age: 18. About 58 percent will be female; 42 percent, male. Nearly all of them will live on campus. One hundred percent will be transformed in some way by their college experiences.
Academics: 40 majors and 36 minors, covering the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences, and professional studies, plus interdisciplinary programs and individualized majors.
Student-to-faculty ratio is 18:1, and more than half of all classes have fewer than 20 students; 98 percent have fewer than 49. The Integrative Studies Program is an innovative and seamless way to meet general education requirements, and the four credit model brings focus and depth to academic study. For details on specific programs, see keene.edu/academics.
Beyond the classroom: Varsity sports (Division III), club and intramural sports, 100 clubs and organizations, Greek life, Alternate Spring Break, community service, Habitat for Humanity, student newspaper, KSC-TV, WKNH-FM, jam sessions, internships, student government – in short, no lack of things to do!
Go global: The Global Education Office, affectionately known as GEO, is the campus hub for academic studyaway experiences and international student support. Fulltime students are eligible for study-away programs after completing 15 credits of work at Keene State (about one semester). Details at keene.edu/geo.
Affordability: College is not cheap, but we firmly believe we provide an exceptional value. Student Financial Services staff work tirelessly to help you put all the pieces together. More than 70 percent of our students receive financial assistance. For current tuition and fees, check keene.edu/sfs.
